What this site collects, what it does not, and what you can ask us to do about it.
The short version
Your salary never leaves your device. Every calculation runs in your own browser. We do not have accounts, we do not run adverts or analytics, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
Who we are
TakeHome is an independent website providing free UK salary and tax calculators. For data protection purposes the site operator is the controller. You can reach us at hello@REPLACE-WITH-YOUR-DOMAIN.co.uk.
The important part
Your calculator entries
Everything you type into a calculator, including your salary, pension, tax code and student loan plan, is processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Those figures are never sent to our server, never written to a database, and never visible to us. Close the tab and they are gone.
This is not a policy choice we could quietly reverse. The calculators have no server side. There is nowhere for the data to go.

That is the complete list. There is no contact form, no newsletter, no account, no comment system and no user profile.
What is not collected
No analytics
No Google Analytics, no Search Console tag, no heatmaps, no session recording.
No advertising
No ad network, no retargeting pixel, no affiliate tracking.
No social or third-party embeds
No share buttons, no embedded video, no external fonts loading in the background.

If we ever add analytics or advertising, this page will be updated and dated before the change goes live, and a cookie banner will appear where the law requires consent.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookies that may appear are technical ones set by WordPress and the caching layer to serve pages correctly, and a login cookie that applies only to the site administrator. Full detail is on the cookie policy page.
Legal basis
Under UK GDPR we rely on legitimate interests for server logs, which are necessary to keep the site running and secure, and for replying to emails you choose to send us. We do not rely on consent because we do not do anything that requires it.
Your rights
What you can ask for
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, give you a copy of it, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our using it. You can also ask for it in a portable format.
In practice we hold almost nothing, so most requests are answered quickly. Email hello@REPLACE-WITH-YOUR-DOMAIN.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are not happy with how we handle it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is aimed at people in work and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Where data is processed
The site is hosted on servers operated by our hosting provider. Server logs are held wherever that provider operates. No personal data is deliberately transferred outside the UK or EEA by us.
Changes to this policy
Any change will be published here with a new date at the top. Substantial changes will be flagged on the home page as well.
